Every once in a while, we are asked to develop “magic.” A friend was working with a developer from NYC who needed something different for a high-end spa/resort/conference center.

The site was an abandoned small airport located in Red Hook, NY. The land had a grass runway and was located next to a local golf course. The site was on a crest, giving an amazing view of the Catskill Mountains to the west.

We created a “magically whimsical” building using natural daylight with an open atrium filled with plants and fountains in the center to relieve every ounce of stress a person could have.
