This home was important to our client. He had achieved great success and wanted a home that reflected his new life. The client sketched a circle within a circle and stated that, “the center circle is the kitchen, the outer circle is the rest of the house.” In other words, the kitchen is the center of the universe. So, that is what we did.

 

As a child, the client had to scrape and paint the home he shared with his parents, brothers, and a myriad of cousins. Consequently, he was averse to a painted house. Our solution was to use granite and pre-stained cedar. The home sat on four acres which allowed us to create both interior and exterior rooms through planting, walkways and vistas, bringing light and nature to every corner of the house.
